Flooding in Malawi has impacted sections of the Nacala railway. Productivity will be affected as trains are not running. Engineers are on site, but lack of power supply is affecting productivity and efficiency of repairs, according to CMA CGM and Delmas.

It is expected to take two weeks to fully restore the Cuamba railway in Mozambique and one month to repair the CEAR railway in Northern Malawi. The rail offer from Nacala-Blantyre and Nacala-Lilongwe have been suspended immediate by CMA CGM and Delmas until further notice. Transit by road is not an option considering conditions between Nacala and Malawi.
